A joyful pelican! He’s glad to be alive and to be free to spread his wings. His wings span approximately 2.6m and Australian Pelicans have the largest longest bills of all birds in the world. The longest recorded bill has been measured at 50cm / 20 inches.
Birds’ wings are like chicken wings, which makes sense, after all, they’re all birds! Knowing this helps to shape the wing and the feathers. Not exactly perfect, but can you see the bones under the wing?
