Today’s painting is of the bright yellow blossoms of our Golden Rain Tree as seen through our living room window. It’s raining outside and it doesn’t take much for the rain and wind to blow these blossoms off their fragile branches creating a beautiful bed of golden flowers on our lawn, and hence the name. In a few weeks or so the remaining little buds will transform into beautiful apricot/pink lanterns. Stay tune for the next painting in a month or two or sooner!

Your water colours are mesmerising. Golden rain tree! You capture them in your canvas like a vision.
The city where I live has the boulevards lined with rain trees, by the bye. And I had to Google the difference between the two 🙂

It is beautiful how you made the yellow blossoms glow against the greyed rain soaked leaves.I’ll be watching for your next painting. I wonder what will delight your eye?

Hello Holly, Thank you so much! I’d like to give them another go before they’re all on the ground. It is such a beautiful tree spanning across 90% of our front yard 🙂

it must be gorgeous, i like it’s name too “golden rain tree”. i wonder if it is the same exotic (which id not survive our New England weather) that as a child i once convinced my mother to plant in our yard?
